Help fund 12 months of operational costs for Hope Zone programs in Zona Norte — North America’s largest red light district.
As we look to the year ahead, there is great expectation for what God will do. Hope Zone will push forward with new exciting programs in the areas of discipleship, academic tutoring, sewing classes and carpentry. Thank you for continuing to bring hope, training and opportunities to the families of Zona Norte for 2024. Any funds raised above our operational costs will go towards our future family center building costs or emergency needs that may come up in the community.
Zona de Esperanza, also known as Hope Zone, is a ministry under the covering of Youth With a Mission San Diego/Baja that focuses on preventing the families of Tijuana from falling into the all to common traps of drug trafficking, sex trafficking, prostitution, abuse, and poverty. We are relationally focused on developing and empowering the families of Tijuana through understanding God’s purposes.
The heart of Hope Zone is to create opportunities and an escape from the difficult reality that families living in Zona Norte are dealing with everyday. These challenges include hopelessness, the cycle of poverty, and survival mentality. The current lack of opportunities and absence of people believing in these families results in significant challenges and does not allow them to perceive beyond their circumstances. In their current environment, there is no hope, but when we create opportunities, it empowers others and brings hope.
We want to elevate individuals to who they really are.

Hope Zone’s vision is to create safe places that encourage growth and development in several areas. We seek to provide creative expressions that allow our children and adults to feel successful while growing deeper in their relationship with God and others in their community.
Our Programs
Family day
The heart of Family Day is in the name. We value families and desire to see God-centered families loving their neighbor. We offer something for every individual on this day.
medical clinics
The heart of the Medical Clinic is to help individuals take ownership of their health and seek better care for them. We desire to see families healthy and stewarding their bodies.
street life
The heart of Street Life is to meet individuals where they are. We use creative tools to begin conversations on the streets and invite them to our Family Day program.
learning zone
The heart of Learning Zone is to help assist children struggling and falling behind in school. We offer reading, writing and math classes after school in hopes of seeing children succeed academically.
teens group
The heart of Teens Group is to create a safe place where teens can grow in their relationship with God and others. We desire for them to dream beyond the streets of Zona Norte.
